In 1993 the Nebraska Synod and the Northern Diocese of Tanzania joined together as a companion synod. Missionaries have been traveling to Tanzania or the former Tanganyika since 1922. The relationship continues as we the Nebraska Synod reach out to serve the people in the Northern Tanzania regions of Kilimanjaro and Karatu. Currently there are several ongoing mission programs, such as Adopt-a-Dispensary, Companion Congregations, Houses for Health, Neema Orphanage, Pastor Exchanges, Scholarships for AIDS Orphans, and Textbooks for Tanzania. As a way to share our Christian love with the children in Tanzania, the Sunday School and Confirmation students are working on a project for her to take and distribute to the children. Please pray that God will be with those individuals participating in the Synod sponsored vision trips but also for the people of Tanzania. We pray that God will work through our hands to assist others in need. Contact the office 721-6158.
