Women of the ELCA (WELCA)
Salem currently has five circles operating. The purpose of the circles is to provide fellowship, friendship and Bible lessons on a monthly basis for the women of the church. Circles are open to all who would like to attend and they meet at different times during the month to accommodate the schedules of women today.
WELCA also performs various functions around the church. These include, but are not limited to, serving lunch for funerals and sometimes weddings when requested, set up and clean up of communion, care of paraments, and other things as needed.

Sewing Circle - Meets 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the
month at 9:00am
Ruth - Meets 1st Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm
Naomi - Meets 2nd Thursday of the month at 9:30am
Sarah - Meets 2nd Thursday of the month at 9:30am
Mary Martha - Meets 3rd Sunday of
the month at 9:45am (between services) in the Fellowship Hall
northeast corner - this is the newest circle that is just organizing
with emphasis on younger ladies
Upcoming Events
Church Women United - May Friendship Day - A
celebration of Church Women United will be at St. Patrick's Catholic
Church on Friday, May 2nd at 9am. All ladies are invited with rolls,
juice and coffee served first. Items for layettes are to be brought.
These are taken to the native Americans at Winnebago and Macy. Small
items can be brought for the mothers. The theme of the celebration
is "God's Wisdom Inspires Hospitality".
